A House of Contrast and Calm - Chislehurst - Monique Beatty, Fab My Life

The story of Denbigh Close is one of considered duality, the tension and harmony between opposites. Light and dark. Raw and refined. Intimate and expansive. Each bathroom carries its own emotional identity, yet all speak the same design language.
The palette charts a chromatic arc, from deep, moody burgundies and rich teals on the lower floors, rising to softer rose pinks and pale sea blues in the loft. An almost unconscious emotional ascent; dramatic and grounded at the base of the home, becoming lighter and more restorative as you climb. At its heart, Denbigh was about balance - family bathrooms designed to genuinely support relaxation and rejuvenation. Spa steam showers paired with freestanding baths, considered planting, soft warm evening wall lights and daylight LED bulbs to support circadian rhythms. Every decision was intentional.
The Master Ensuite
The most emotionally charged space in the home. The deep teal Blu Brick tiles - glazed, jewel-like, alive with texture - are set against the crystalline calm of the Crystal Vein Beige porcelain, its marble-inspired veining evoking sophistication and stillness. Brass anchors everything: warm, human, timeless. The smoked glass partition adds quiet theatre, separating bedroom from sanctuary without fully severing the two worlds. This room is about safe indulgence; the rough texture of brick tile against smooth stone, the warmth of gold against cool grey, the enveloping darkness of the shower offset by the openness of the vaulted Velux above.
The Family Bathroom
The most composed of all the spaces, serene and ordered. Calacatta marble wraps the room in a continuous, meditative pattern. The freestanding bath sits like sculpture beneath natural light, and the dark reed vanity introduces warmth and craft without disruption. A deliberate breath in. This is the family retreat after the noise of daily life; a room designed entirely for restoration.
The Loft Bathroom
The most delicate and hopeful of the three. Light floods through Velux windows onto warm whites, natural oak shelving and the softness of the Calacatta marble effect tile, tactile, gentle, full of youth and clarity. Deep dark brass adds just enough depth and grounding. It feels like morning light and fresh starts, with the back-to-wall bath positioned beneath the roof slope as a quiet piece of spatial storytelling; luxury tucked into the very architecture of the home itself.
As immersive, multi-sensory interior designers, the approach at Fab My Life is always to design for feeling first. The tile choices at Denbigh were never purely aesthetic decisions, they were the architecture of feeling.
